Webb25 nov. 2011 · #1 Hi, I can type Chinese via ibus or scim throughout all my X applications. So know I open QQ [ ( net-im/qq) which is a linux binary application] and want to type in the window, I will change my Input Methods by hitting + on the keyboard, but the input method will not come up. I fixed this by adding this line to /usr/local/bin/qq: Webb8 apr. 2024 · Maybe, it's because 'plasma-desktop' alien package isn't compiled with ibus, (it seem ibus is optional dependency of plasma-desktop). but, Im not sure why, ArchLinux, Kubuntu and OpenSuse, such distributions using plasma 5 desktop all can input Chinese using fcitx. I hope one day, plasma would replace kde4 as its official supported desktop ...
